A Study Comparing Low Carbohydrate and Low Fat Diets

For a year two sets of one hundred people went on one of two diets: a low carbohydrate diet or a low fat diet. Once the year was over, both groups lose about as much weight as each other, but the group undergoing a low carbohydrate diet had lower blood pressure as well as reduced HDL cholesterol levels. Evidently the low carbohydrate set gained some health rewards in addition to losing weight.

Monday through Friday, it is simple to stay on track with a low carb plan.

You’ll be impressed with the look of your body in a low carb diet. I also like the way my body feels. I am more vigorous and get more done. For me, this is the ideal way to eat Monday-Friday. This type of eating also makes it easier to follow the Eat Stop Eat method of eating, you typically don’t get the strong cravings for food that moderate to high carb diets produce.

It is harder to follow low carbohydrate dieting on Saturday and Sunday.

When we’re taking the time to relax on the weekend, it’s difficult to keep track of obligations. Unfortunately, they have a lot of choices to eat that aren’t on a low carb plan. It’s perfectly normal to take in a few carbs on the weekend. I attempt to eat more greens and lean meats but I cannot tell you that I am able to do this at every meal. I think the devil invented nachos, because I love eating lots of them with a cold pint of beer.

For Short Periods of Time I Like to Go Low Fat AND Low Carb

If you want to lose weight within a couple of weeks and need the most efficient diet, eat calorie-light proteins and stay off the carbs like you normally do. Don’t do this longer than two weeks, but if done right you’ll have lost a lot of calories by keeping away from fat. A diet based around chicken breasts and green vegetables can work wonders in dropping weight quickly. This is what I would call a “vacation prep” diet.

Most of the Time, It’s Okay to Eat A Lot of Meat

Primal meals are made up of lots of proteins and good fats and have fewer carbs, and this is what I enjoy for meals Monday through Friday. You’ll feel great when doing this. Carbs tend to make me sleepy in the middle of the afternoon because my body reacts intensely to them. When carbs such as bread and potatoes are not available at meals, I lean toward consuming more fruits and veggies. You can let go a bit on the weekend, but don’t take in too many carbs and fats at the same time, which will end up undermining your work.

In conclusion, I believe that in order to drop weight you must discover the best way to consume fewer calories. What works for me, is eating fewer carbohydrates Monday through Friday alongside two Eat Stop Eat programs, which permits me to consume more traditional meals on Saturdays and Sundays.
